All NZPF members who join Principals’ Advice & Support Limited (PASL) can get legal advice on any matters affecting their employment and relationship with the Board as their employer.
Do you have a tricky issue?
Employment issues can arise unexpectedly, and it can take time to build relationships with new Board members. Remember that as an employee of your Board you are entitled to a safe and healthy workplace just like any other employee. That means you are entitled to quietly take confidential legal advice if you have any concerns.
Don’t sit on it!
The most important thing is to give yourself the opportunity to consult with PASL before taking any action, such as agreeing to participate in an independent investigation or sending off a fiery email to your Presiding Member expressing your views. PASL can provide constructive employment advice aimed at working with you to resolve issues at the lowest possible level and, if needed, we can facilitate up to $30,000 (including GST) of legal advice to support each issue and represent you directly.

While early notification of an issue is key, you have to be a PASL member first.
